We establish an existence result for a class of quasilinearelliptic boundary value problems with jumping nonlinearitiesusing variational arguments. First we calculate certain homotopygroups of sublevel sets of the asymptotic part of the variationalfunctional. Then we use these groups to show that the fullfunctional admits a linking geometry and hence a min-max criticalpoint.
