We present a higher-order extension of the well-known theorem of Ben-Tal and Zowe on second-order necessary optimality conditions in topological vector spaces. We also examine the connection between this extension and theresults of Furukawa and Yoshinaga which are stated in terms of higher-ordervariational sets and Neustadt derivatives.
