Photographs made in the past and at the present by using of different photographic techniques and on various supports (metal, paper, glass, leather, textile and others) become collector’s objects. Basic types of photographic materials which occur in private and national collections characterized. Characteristic features and function of the photographs presented as well as emphasized the features which increase the collector’s value. Moreover the author shared remarks on permanence of the photographic image.
