ABSTRACT By considering the significance of sustainable development at the local scale; some factors like, the use of local materials, refunctioning of the old buildings with appropriate functions and the effects of the users on the preservation and renewal process have been gaining importance. For this reason, the main aim of the "development" is not to be challenged with the urban preservation in the case of the physical, as well as social-cultural dimensions of the cities. In this circumstance, under the scope of olive oil and agri-industrial tourisms; the preservation of West Anatolian settlement's significant features, olive oil mills and the houses, and the carrying on them to the future generations with their original forms could be one of the most important "cultural tourism" strategies. It is assumed that, one of the most important outcomes of this research is to be to specify in which way and how to preserve and renew architectural and spatial elements of the cities in their own memorial spaces.
