First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Kenneth Kin Lam Wong is first author on ‘Hyperpolarized mitochondria accumulate in Drosophila Hipk-overexpressing cells to drive tumor-like growth’, published in JCS. Kenneth is a PhD student in the lab of Dr Esther Verheyen at the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, Canada, investigating the crosstalk between cell signaling and metabolism in tumor cells.
