The pick‐up rate of 2149 e‐prescriptions and 414 paper prescriptions for short‐term treatments was determined at a middle‐sized Swedish pharmacy. We found a high pick‐up rate of 90% within 5 days from the date of issue. The number of patients with a pick‐up delay of more than 5 days was significantly higher among those with paper prescriptions (15%) compared to those with e‐prescriptions (10%).
