Childhood craniopharyngiomas (CPs) are known to be associated with an increased risk of excessive weight gain and hypothalamic obesity. Atypical clinical manifestations include the development of a diencephalic syndrome (DS) with a failure to thrive or maintain weight at appropriate body mass index.
