Angiotensin II (AngII) increases insulin-mediated glucose uptake in healthy individuals. The underlying mechanisms are undefined. AngII may increase glucose uptake through a direct effect on muscle cell insulin signaling or through increasing insulin delivery to muscle cells through effects on the microvasculature.
