In our geophysical community, you might find a technician from a small geophysical company located in a small Oklahoma town who is working in a remote area of China. At the same time, you might find a geophysicist trained in China and Canada who is working on redeveloping an oil field not far from that same small Oklahoma town. In our community, you will see geophysicists around the world who have spent their careers interpreting 3D reflection data and who are now learning to use new technologies, such as machine learning and passive seismology, to improve and guide field development in unconventional plays.
