This month's column was an especially challenging one. The editors of Geophysics nominated 13 papers from the March/April 2018 issue to highlight here — a record number. That also meant that I had to make hard choices to pick six papers to highlight in this column, and I picked those that engaged me personally. The takeaway is that the March/April 2018 issue of Geophysics is exceptional. Please check it out and make your own picks. I found it a hoot that two of the nominated papers dealt with electromagnetic methods and steel well casing and three papers dealt with some form of elastic seismic inversion/migration, both which I think are important geophysical issues.
