To mark the 20 th annual celebration of Earth Science Week, geoscientists and others worldwide are focusing on the theme “Earth and Human Activity.” A wealth of new informational resources, activities, and programs built around this theme are promoting public understanding of the geosciences and stewardship of the planet, especially in terms of the ways people affect and are affected by earth systems.
