When Marilyn Brown, SEG Professional Development advisor, announced the schedule of continuing education (CE) courses planned for the 2016 SEG Annual Meeting in Dallas, Texas, it was my chance to volunteer as an SEG course evaluator for a new course or one scheduled for a five-year review. Brown and Tom Agnew, SEG associate executive director of programs, had a challenge in selecting the courses to host, given the state of the industry and the significant decrease in student enrollment for CE courses. However, both realized the value of CE courses to SEG members and decided to host as many of the originally planned courses as financially possible. I myself was very grateful for the opportunity to attend one of the CE courses, which was a great course by Steve Hill.
