Geophysics is a key enabler of energy reform. This relationship is perfectly illustrated by recent geophysical activities in Mexico. There, as elsewhere across the globe, exploration geophysicists are the pioneers of the oil and gas industry — always leading the way into exploration frontiers and rediscovering mature basins. Represented by more than 3000 technical professionals, this vibrant community is designing and preparing surveys, acquiring data offshore, and processing and interpreting seismic information for participation in upcoming licensing rounds and new operations. These activities form a solid foundation for future E&P business and an ongoing support of Mexico's energy reform.
