SEG has done quite a bit of soul-searching this year, most notably with President John Bradford launching a formal strategic-planning exercise at the beginning of his tenure. Timing was excellent as Dorsey Morrow had just joined SEG as its new executive director, and the oil and gas market was taking a turn for the worse. Through a series of interviews, surveys, and workshops, SEG sought to develop a new strategy that would play to SEG's historic strengths while also casting an eye toward the future. The outcome, which was presented by President-Elect Bill Abriel at the May meeting of the SEG Board of Directors, signals a significant shift of focus for SEG.
