A histochemical method demonstrating lipoprotein, depending on the reaction between choline, ethanolamine and serine, and hydroquinone with consequent reduction of tetrazolium salts is described. In vitro tests supporting the chemistry of the reaction are given. The role of this phenomenon in relation to histochemical aspects of the dehydrogenase reactions is discussed.
