Bochdalek hernia is a congenital diaphragmatic hernia in which intra‐abdominal organs protrude into the thoracic cavity through an opening in the diaphragm. It rarely occurs in adults. We report one such case in a 24‐year‐old lady who presented with a pop sound and acute onset of abdominal pain. Imaging investigation confirmed the diagnosis and laparoscopic repair was done. The importance of high clinical suspicion, consideration of Bochdalek hernia as a differential diagnosis of acute abdominal pain and the role of imaging for accurate diagnosis is emphasized.
