The method involves electro deposition by cathodic electrolysis of a thin metallic layer of the oxide of the metal molybdenum, on the surface of a metal workpiece. The workpiece, which could be solid or else a laminate such as a slide bearing, thus has an adaptation surface capable of withstanding extremely high surface pressures and/or high temperatures, and of preventing metallic-surface abrasion or galling, and dry friction.
