To the Editor:We read with interest the paper by Salaycik et al,1 in which depressive symptoms are an independent risk factor for incident stroke/TIA in individuals younger than age 65 years. According to NCEP ATP III,2 changes in eating patterns are still central to the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risk.
