Aldosterone, the final mediator of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone pathway, is at its highest plasma levels at presentation for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Whether aldosterone level at presentation for STEMI is associated with adverse outcome remains unknown.
