Combined positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) can assess both anatomy and biology of carotid atherosclerosis. We sought to assess whether 18 F-fluoride or 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose can identify culprit and high-risk carotid plaque.
