Endothelium dysfunction is an initiating factor in atherosclerosis. A disintegrin and metalloproteinase 15 (ADAM 15) is a multidomain metalloprotease recently identified as a regulator of endothelial permeability. However, whether and how ADAM15 contributes to atherosclerosis remains unknown.
