Macrophage (MΦ) infiltration during myocardial infarction (MI) amplifies cardiac inflammation and remodeling. We investigated whether activation of the NRLP3 inflammasome by a calcium sensing receptor (CaSR) in MΦ subsets contributes to cardiac remodeling following MI.
