The publishing house was founded by Samuel Karger in Berlin in 1890. The company is a family-owned corporation with house leadership now With this issue, Acta Cytologica has a new publisher, S. Karger AG, and begins its 55th year of publication. The change of publisher will not affect the editorial policy since there is no change in the editorial board; this communication is to inform our readers about our new publisher and to present a brief history of the journal.
