To the Editor: Dietary iodine questionnaire and urinary iodine excretion is the most useful method to obtain the iodine status in individuals and in the population. As yet, there are still no other useful methods to obtain the iodine status in individuals and in the population. On the other hand we confirmed dietary iodine intake with urinary iodine excretion. In our study patients with higher urinary iodine excretion had a rich iodine intake history. In the Rasmussen et al study milk and milk products were found the main sources of iodine accounting for about 44% iodine intake.1 Fish contributed with about 15% iodine intake. Therefore, the authors concluded that milk intake was the food most closely related to iodine excretion.1
