Accessible online at: www.karger.com/iaa It is with great pleasure that I will have the privilege to succeed Dietrich Kraft as the Editor-in-Chief of International Archives of Allergy and Immunology (IAAI). I would like to thank him for the interesting and challenging 5 years I served as his Managing Editor. I will continue this work with a new Managing Editor, Erika Jensen-Jarolim, and the excellent team of associate editors, editorial board members and reviewers. With their help, and in good collaboration with the publishers, Thomas and Steven Karger, we will pursue the major lines of the journal. Our goal will still be to publish high quality research articles and timely reviews in molecular, cellular and clinical allergology as well as immunology. We are convinced that allergology is at home in immunology and, therefore, it is our desire to continue publishing articles on all aspects of this field. In addition to original research articles and reviews, we welcome opinion articles, commentaries and images to provide our readers with cutting edge information on important trends in allergology and immunology. In order to maintain and even increase the scientific standard of IAAI, we will – with the support of the associate editors, the editorial board members and our reviewers – make every effort to evaluate and publish papers following our previous principles: ‘high quality, fair and fast’. We look forward to receiving your excellent manuscripts from all over the world and hope that you, our readers, will enjoy IAAI as a forum of modern allergology and immunology. Editor-in-Chief: Rudolf Valenta
