Taxanes and platinum derivatives are emerging as an important combination in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The use of paclitaxel plus carboplatin has been received much attention in recent years, and there is now increasing interest in combinations of docetaxel and platinum derivatives. Recent attention has also focussed on the development of non-platinum combinations for the treatment of NSCLC.
