Several prior investigations have documented deformation-induced rotation of β -Si 3 N 4grains resultingin texture and property anisotropy. As documented previously for axisymmetric textures, Jeffery-basedmodels correlate well with experimental results for a limited range of strains in plane strain deformation.Comparison to other experimental results and the implications of these results on texture modelingare discussed.
