The way of calculating the texture of a polycrystalline deposit over a polycrystalline substrate isconsidered in this paper. The proposed procedure consists in taking into account the epitaxialrelationships and in defining some kind of selection rules according to the assumed crystallographicsurface state of the substrate. To illustrate the interest of such a procedure, textures are calculatedunder various conditions and compared with ‘experimental’ textures for electrodeposited zincdeposits over steel sheets.
