The representation theory of infinite wreath productgroups is developed by means of the relationshipbetween their group algebras and conjugacy classeswith those of the infinite symmetric group.Further, since these groups are inductive limits offinite groups, their finite characters can beclassified as limits of normalized irreduciblecharacters of prelimit finite groups. Thisidentification is called the “asymptotic characterformula.” The K0-invariant of the groupC∗-algebra is also determined
