The editorial\udboard is confident that it is a truly good publication; as the\udpapers published in this issue cover a broad spectrum of\udtopics on plant biotechnology, that could be of wide interest.\udThis special issue received 20 papers, of which 2 papers\udwere withdrawn and 4 were rejected (not for their quality but\udfor their relatedness to the special issue).\udThe guest editorial board of this issue would like to\udmention that the published papers in this special issue contain\udone paper on molecular and genetic diversity fromChina that\udstudied 115 sugarcane genotypes based on five genomic simple\udsequence repeat marker (gSSR) loci and 88 polymorphic alleles\udof loci as detected by capillary electrophoresis.The results\udindicated large intrapopulation genetic variation compared\udwith interpopulation variation. The knowledge obtained in\udthis study should be useful for future breeding programs
