By constructing a suitable Lyapunov function andusing the comparison theorem of difference equation, sufficientconditions which ensure the permanence and global attractivity ofthe discrete predator-prey system with Hassell-Varley-Holling III typefunctional response are obtained. An example together with itsnumerical simulation shows that the main results are verifiable
