The complexation reaction between some transition and heavy metal cations and some new N2O2 Schiff bases in acetonitrile (AN) or methanol (MeOH) as nonaqueous solvents at 25 °C and 0.05 M tetraethylammonium perchlorate (TEAP) were investigated by spectrophotometric method. The stoichiometry and overall stability constants of complexes have been evaluated by computer refinement of abs-mole ratio data, using the KINFIT program. All investigated metal ions form 1:1 ML, 1:2 ML2 or 2:1 M2L complexes with studied ligands. The effect of structure on the complexation was investigated
