Recent developments of nonlinear spectroscopy in liquids are reviewed. Especially, off-resonantfifth and seventh order nonlinear techniques are discussed in light of theirapplication to the studies of microscopic dynamics. Vibrational echo experiments andovertone vibrational dephasing spectroscopy are examples of the higher order nonlinearspectroscopy.
