This article reviews the engineering theory and technology associated with the use of dicrete Isolators to protect Vibration-sensitive equipment or machinery against sinusoidal or random excitation. Special attention is given to protection against low frequency ( 100 Hz) excitation. Both passive and active isolators systems are discussed.
