System and control theory based models for the simulation of material related processes taking place during dynamic SOFC operation can provide information about internal cell variables and responses to changes in operating conditions. To build these models, linguistic expert knowledge has to be represented mathematically by if-then rules. With this interdisciplinary approach to modeling in materials development by applying computational intelligence techniques, many applications are conceivable. It is the purpose of this contribution to present the investigated material system, the model results and first verification approaches for not-measurable parameters.
