This paper investigates whether Klondike Solitaire canbe used as an assessment tool for mild cognitiveimpairment (MCI). It does so by providing a structuredanalysis and mapping player actions to cognitivefunctions. For Klondike Solitaire, 22 player actions weredefined and mapped to 10 cognitive functions by 3health professionals in the field of MCI. The resultsindicate that Attention, Executive Function, ObjectRecognition, Abstraction and Memory can be assessed through gameplay of Solitaire. Healthcare professionalsconfirmed that this can potentially be valuable, as itcan screen for cognitive impairments longitudinally, in anon-intrusive way, without practice effects.status: publishe
