We reanalyze quantum Einstein gravity in a perturbative way. As an example, the (1-loop) renormalizability of the scalar-gravity interacting theory is reexamined. The importance of the gauge choice is stressed. We propose the most general background-field gauge for this theory and show that the renormalizability is valid if we choose the gauge parameters properly
