Assuming rhe nucleon isobar with spin J=3/2, isotopic spin £=3/2 and mass M=121O Mev, we have studied the scattering of gamma ray by nucleon by the covariant perturbation merhod. As is expected, the total cross section varies strongly with· incident gamma, ray i.e., the correction for KleinNishina formula at the rhreshold energy for meson production is 0!1ly of about 30 percent, but at the excitation energy of isobar a remarkable resonance scattering is found. The angular distribution has a tendency to become predominant in the forward direction with the increase of incident energy.
