The infrared and Raman spectra of TeClF 5 have been recorded. Assignments have been made on the basis of C 4v symmetry. A normal coordinate analysis was carried out on SClF 5 , SeClF 5 , TeClF 5 , SF 6 , SeF 6 , and TeF 6 and the derived force constants compared.
