The tracer diffusion coefficient of thallium in thallium amalgams was measured at 25 °C by the capillary-reservoir technique. The values of 10 5 D in cm 2 s −1 at 0.0075, 0.0713, 0.1610, 0.2004, 0.2858, 0.3460, 0.3868, 0.4158 mole fraction thallium were 0.98, 0.85, 0.71, 0.62, 0.47, 0.41, 0.38, 0.39 with an average standard deviation of 0.016 × 10 −5 cm 2 s −1 . The compound Tl 2 Hg 5 plays a significant role in the tracer diffusion.
