We investigated three nosocomialCandida quercitrusa candidemia cases occurring within 2 months in a Chinese hospital. Isolates were identifiable only by DNA sequencing of the rRNA genes. Genetic (via random amplified polymorphic DNA [RAPD]) and protein mass spectral (via matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization–time of flight mass spectrometry [MALDI-TOF MS]) analyses yielded identical profiles suggesting an outbreak. The fluconazole MICs of all the strains were 16 to 32 μg/ml.
