Pelagibaca bermudensis HTCC2601T andMaritimibacter alkaliphilus HTCC2654T represent two marine genera in the globally significantRoseobacter clade of theAlphaproteobacteria . Here, we present the genome sequences of these organisms, isolated from the Sargasso Sea using dilution-to-extinction culturing, which offer insight into the genetic basis for the metabolic and ecological diversity of this important group.
