24th Annual Midwest Microbial Pathogenesis Conference

The 24th Annual Midwest Microbial Pathogenesis Conference (MMPC) was held at the University of Notre Dame from 25 to 27 August 2017. The conference provided an opportunity for scientists from the Midwest to discuss new advances in microbial pathogenesis, including how pathogens promote disease and how they interact with each other, the microbiome, and the host. We highlight the history of the MMPC, the topics presented at the conference, and the reports in this issue of theJournal of Bacteriology .
