PCR screening of the shellfish-borne pathogenVibrio vulnificus revealedcsrA -negative strains, and these strains formed increased biofilm compared tocsrA -positive strains. Complementation intrans withcsrA resulted in reduced biofilm formation, similar to that bycsrA + strains. Our results provide evidence thatcsrA inhibits biofilm formation inV. vulnificus .
