Very little is known about rhizobia that form nodules onThermopsis spp. We report the isolation of aMesorhizobium huakuii strain with a uniquenodA gene that form nodules onThermopsis lupinoides in Kamtchatka, Russia. The isolate did not form nodules onThermopsis chinensis orThermopsis caroliniana , which suggests it may be host specific.
