Ceftobiprole is a fifth-generation cephalosporin with activity against methicillin-resistantStaphylococcus aureus (MRSA). One-year surveillance at the Regional Hospital of Ancona (Italy) disclosed a 12% ceftobiprole resistance rate (12/102 isolates; MIC, ≥4 mg/liter).
