This study reports the discovery oferm genes in seven species of rapidly growing mycobacteria (RGM):Mycobacterium boenickei ,M. goodii ,M. houstonense ,M. mageritense ,M. neworleansense ,M. porcinum , andM. wolinskyi . This study further substantiates the role oferm genes in intrinsic macrolide resistance in RGM.
