work on the subject. Glycosuria is essentially a chemical problem and should primarily be attached from a chemical point of view. The book begins with a discussion of the properties and pli3'siology of the carbohydrates, and methods for their detection are full}7 described. Experimental glycosuria is well dealt with and the author believes that the pancreas is concerned with the metabolism of sugar and possibly also the pituitary gland is also concerned. For convenience sake the simpler forms of alimentary transitory and intermittent glycosuria are treated separate^. A full account of the author's " Pancreatic Reaction" is given. The important subject of treatment is fully gone into-in fact exceptionally detailed and clear; the tables in winch the diet is mapped out as regards both carbohydrates and proteids are well worth attention, and we note that in the author's opinion "very few commercial bread-substitutes are starch-free."
