The objective of this work was to determine the dynamics of the temporal space of land use and occupation in two moments in the hydrographic basin of the Weir Santa Cruz do Apodi –RN. Using geotechnologies, thematic maps of land use and occupation were elaborated for the years 2009 and 2016, followed by a quantitative analysis of the data obtained. This study revealed that the hydrographic basin of the Weir Santa Cruz of the Apodi is undergoing a stage of environment degradation in recent years due to natural and entropic process, thus, it is necessary an environment and territorial planning policy that focuses on integrated management of nature resources and in the multiple uses of hydric resources.
