The paradigm of Good Living, born in Bolivia and Ecuador, poses a relationship of society in harmony with nature from a vision of socio-ecological transition. Ecuador’s Constitution incorporates the rights of nature in a manner equivalent to humans. It is a disruptive stance with the current development model. In relation to land use planning, this posture presents certain methodological vacancy, where fundamental concepts such as landscape, heritage and biodiversity, reveal a lack of complementarity between them. The aim of this study is to investigate these concepts and their interrelationship to achieve an adequate approach to this new paradigm. Is exposed a critical review of conceptual approaches and conventions, charters and international agreements, which show shift away for proper interpretation between problems that exacerbate the vulnerability of territories. As a significant contribution, a discussion and synthesis is presented for understanding and joint advancement of knowledge. This paradigm is understood as an interdisciplinary defy for addressing complex system. This represents a viable alternative for development.
